Monolithic Linear IC
LA7995M
Charge Pump Based DC-DC
Converter
Overview
The LA7995M is a DC-DC converter IC that produces a 30V level from a 5V VCC power supply. It is intended for
applications such as the tuner power supply on video boards for personal computers.
Previously, almost all DC-DC converters adopted a technique in which the back electromotive force from a coil was used
as the step-up method. However, that method had the problem that it was subject to high-frequency noise due to the sharp
pulses used. In contrast, this device adopts the charge pump method. In addition to reducing noise significantly, this
method only requires capacitors as external components, thus reducing external component costs.
